12/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Following its annual tradition, the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU) is publishing its essential EU Information Handbook, now in its 17th edition. In the preface, AmCham comments that the detailed, up-to-date information in the guide on the European institutions, key players and the world around them is vital for finding one's way through the EU labyrinth, an even greater challenge now that the EU is on the verge of an unprecedented round of enlargement and hopefully, the adoption of a Constitution which will have a great impact on how the EU operates. In the introduction, Maja Wessels, AmCham President, notes the importance of ensuring the EU remains accessible in the most important year of its history. The consequences for the business world of this enlargement of the Single Market from fifteen to twenty-five countries cannot be underestimated, she warns, noting the need to ensure the legal security of the process and a favourable environment for business.
