Mr Dimas takes over from Ms Diamantopoulou

Brussels, 12/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Council of Ministers of the European Union confirmed the appointment of Mr Stavros Dimas as European Commissioner to replace Anna Diamantopoulou who resigned from the Commission to return to the Greek parliament. The new Commissioner will be in Brussels on Tuesday. He will take up position until the College's mandate expires on 31 October 2004.
