Brussels, 13/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The EU Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper) adopted, on Wednesday, a policy agreement reached by the Transport Council of December 2003 on the proposal of regulation amending Regulation 95/93 relating to common rules for attribution of timeslots in Community airports. The Council is to formally endorse the agreement in the near future (perhaps during the External Relations Council of 23 and 24 February). We recall that the agreement reached in December did not allow the question of transferring and exchanging timeslots to be settled, as some Member States considered the matter went beyond the framework of the proposal (which aims at updating the regulation from a technical point of view). The Commission had announced that it could present a proposal on this specific point in 2004 after having carried out a study on the subject (see EUROPE of 9 December).
