Russia ready to agree to European representation in Chechnya - Commission's finishing touches to assessment report on EU/Russian relations

Brussels, 05/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - AFP has indicated that he Italian foreign affairs minister, Franco Frattini, met the Russian President, Vladimir Putin and Russian minister for foreign affairs, Igor Ivanov, on Wednesday in Moscow. The three men again expressed understanding of their respective efforts: Russia says that it is ready to receive an EU representation in Chechnya, while Frattini has supported an easing off and even perhaps an end to the visa system in force between the EU...
