Council adopts long-term recovery plans for threatened cod and hake stocks and fishing rights for 2004

Brussels, 19/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - After two days of intense negotiations, including working through the night, Fisheries Ministers reach a unanimous agreement at the end of Friday morning on the setting up of recovery plans for endangered cod stocks (Katttegat and Skagerrak zones, North Sea, Eastern Channel, west Scotland and Irish Sea) and cod from the north (north Sea, Katttegat and Skagerrak, west Scotland, the Channel, Irish Sea, Celtic Sea, west of Ireland, and the Bay of Biscay)....
