Franco-German group AVENTIS paid EUR 1.5 billion to its pension fund in Germany to cover commitments so far non covered by 2.18 billion. This contribution will bring the net debt of the group from the level of around EUR 3.5 billion end 2002 to around 4.5-5 billion end 2003.
