Brussels, 17/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - the 6th India-European Union round table was held on 16-17 December in Rome under the presidency of Roger Briesch, president of the European Economic and Social committee (EESC) and Mr N. N. Vohra, director of the International Centre of India and negotiator for Jammu and Kashmir. The socio-economic actors from the EESC and India meeting in Rome examined the following subjects: barriers to trade and investment flows between India and the EU; 2) implementation of recommendations on role of the media in the promotion of civil society. A hearing with representatives from Italian civil society involved in Euro-Indian relations was held on Wednesday on "Cultural Dialogue and Images of India and the EU amongst the Public at Large".
