Brussels, 17/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank has just set up an initiative for supporting European Union policy with regard to climate change. It has provided an envelope of EUR 500 million for 2-3 years. This will allow structural loans to be granted for projects in the EU's programme on emission trading systems. The EIB will also be looking at other ways of support, such as its possible participation a facility for carbon funds, indicated a press statement.
