Malta, 12/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network, EMHRN, created in the context of the civil society activities of the Barcelona Process and encouraged by the European Commission, held its 6th General Assembly on 4 and 7 December in Malta. Forty-seven of the network's member associations and organisations from 21 of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership countries took part, at the invitation of the Mediterranean Academy for diplomatic studies in Malta and in the presence of the President of the Maltese Parliament. Tunisian national Kamel Jendoubi was elected EMHRN President. His country has been blacklisted by the member associations of the Euro-Mediterranean network.
