Erkki Tuomioja explains rejections of structured cooperation and mutual defence by Helsinki

Brussels, 28/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - In an article published on 28 October in the Financial Times, the Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Erkki Tuomioja said that Finland wanted to strengthen CFSP, which in turn would mean strengthening the ESDP but reasserted his opposition to two articles proposed by the European Convention and which tend to be rather divisive: structured cooperation and the mutual defence clause.
