Council envisages sending EU Special Representative to region

Porto Carras, 20/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European council invited the Commission and Javier Solana to present, to the European Council in October a detailed work plan to set up a partnership with Middle East countries and North Africa. (Danish PM, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, proposed such an initiative: Editor's note). This plan could include sending the EU Special Representative to the region and the building of "bridges" between the EU and the Arab League.
