20/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Following the political agreement of 4 March, the Council adopted without debate its common position on the "Forest Focus" regulation establishing a new Community framework for assessing the impact that atmospheric pollution and pollution from fires have on forest ecosystems. EUR 52 million are earmarked for the initial period 2003-2006. Resources for 2007-2008 will be allocated depending on the new financial perspectives of the Community.
