Silvio Berlusconi wants defence and investment spending to be excluded from budgetary deficit calculations

Luxembourg, 27/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - During a press conference given on Saturday following a lunch with the Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi stated that spending for defence and investment should be excluded from the calculation of budgetary spending aimed at assessing their conformity with the Stability Pact.
