Council adopts regulation banning reimportation of low-priced medicines intended for poor countries

Brussels, 26/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the Union provided itself with a mechanism that enables the European pharmaceutical industry to sell medicines for treating AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria at low prices to developing countries, while preventing these products from being re-imported via other channels to the Community market.
