Brussels, 29/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee unanimously approved the nomination of Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell to replace Sirkka Hamalainen on the European Central Bank's Governing Council. The Economic and Monetary Committee's recommendation will be put to the vote at the European Parliament in May before heads of state take the final decision.
