25/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Despite objections from various countries, such as the USA and China, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights on 24 April approved a resolution presented by the EU calling for a moratorium on application of the death penalty. The text calls on countries where the death penalty exists to suspend it for those under eighteen, pregnant women and people suffering from psychological problems.
