25/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - As a result of the shipwrecks of oil tankers "Prestige" and "Erika", the European Parliament's Commission for Industry on Wednesday asked for heavy hydrocarbons to be transported only in double-hulled ships, and called upon the European Commission to take provisions banning non-double-hulled oil tankers from transporting crude oil in European waters.
