Commission gears up for publication of "road map" to encourage EU public and private operators to increase research effort

Brussels, 25/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Next Tuesday, the European Commission will be presenting a "road map" to identify the different measures for encouraging public and private operators in the Union to increase efforts in research. The document, "Investing in research: an action plan for Europe" sets out the initiatives required to increase the level of R&D investment from 1.9% to 3% of EU GDP, as laid down in the Summit of Barcelona.
