25/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - On 24 April the EU and the Economic Community of Western African Space meeting in Accra for a meeting in which European Commissioner Pascal Lamy took part, agreed to open negotiations for an economic and partnership agreement in September. Western Africa is the first ACP group region planning such an agreement with the EU, according to a Commission press release. EUROPE ill be returning to this issue.
