Commission proposes creation of EUR 1 billion European water fund for ACP countries

Brussels, 23/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Romano Prodi's idea to create, for the ACP states (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific), a European fund for water backed with one billion Euros (see letter he sent to the Heads of State and Government of the EU 15, in EUROPE of 11 April, p. 11) has become a proposal from the European Commission.
