Michaele Schreyer discusses new pre-accession strategy with Turkish authorities

Brussels, 23/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday and Friday, Commissioner Michaele Schreyer will be in Turkey to discuss the Commission's proposal aimed at gradually increasing pre-accession funds in favour of Turkey (see EUROPE of 16 April, p.5). Ms Schreyer will meet the Turkish authorities (ministers, administrative officials) and members of the civil society in order to discuss the request made by Ankara for EU membership.
