Parliament pushes EU to act to lessen effects of crisis on coffee producers

Strasbourg, 14/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - In its adoption last Thursday of a common resolution by six political groups (EPP-ED, PES, ELDR, Greens/FTA, GUE/NGL and UEN) on the crisis in the international coffee market, the European Parliament is asking the Commission and Council for a global strategy to alleviate the crisis.

Parliament approves France's proposal to include the raw materials issue, particularly coffee, on the agenda of the G8 Summit in Evian next June. It notes the...
