Strasbourg, 13/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - After a long series of votes allowing adoption of numerous amendments by the EPP-ED and ELDR groups, the European Parliament finally rejected, by 224 votes to 231 and 72 abstentions, the report by German Christian Democrat Thomas Mann on new proposals in favour of an employment strategy and social policy within the European Union.
