Lamy answers criticism against him by French Agriculture Minister

Brussels, 05/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Pascal Lamy protested in a letter to Farm Minister Hervé Gaymard against the latter's accusation that he was "forgetting he was French" when it came to supporting reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Mr Lamy attached to his letter a "copy of the oath" whereby all members of the European Commission pledge, when taking up their duties, to hold their posts in full independence without making the interests of their own countries...
