Sanctions prolonged for a year - On Friday, Coreper to decide on fate of Europe-Africa Summit

Brussels, 13/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Permanent Representatives of the EU's Member States (Coreper) decided Wednesday evening to prolong sanctions against Zimbabwe for a year as from 18 February, according to the new arrangements that were the subject of an agreement in principle last week (see EUROPE of 7 February, p.11). They also confirmed that they so no objection to Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe taking part in the Summit of France/Africa heads of State in Paris on 20 and 21...
