Yakis points out Turkey hopes to meet Copenhagen criteria from end 2003

Ankara, 03/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - After the ministerial meeting with the EU Troika, last Friday in Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis affirmed, according to the Anatolie Agency (and taken over by AFP), that "our government aims to complete the preparations necessary to meet the Copenhagen criteria at the end of 2003, and not at the end of 2004" as foreseen by the European Council of Copenhagen last December.
