European Commission wants to improve and enhance provisions concerning minimum level of training for seafarers

Brussels, 17/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - As the Commissioner responsible for Transport, Loyola de Palacio, announced when presenting her communication following the sinking of the Prestige (see EUROPE of 4 December, p.8), the European Commission published a draft directive on Friday amending Directive 2001/25/EC (adopted on 4 April 2000) relating to the minimum level of training for seafarers.
