17/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption of the report by Belgian Christian Democrat Marianne Thyssen, the European Parliament amended at first reading (codecision) the Commission's proposal concerning application of international accounting standards to certain categories of firms and to insurance firms (amendments of Directives 78/660/EEC, 83/349/EEC and 91/674/EEC).
