Demonstrations for peace and Europe in northern Cyprus - Denktash announces resumption of discussions on Wednesday

Brussels, 14/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Between 50,000 and 70,000 people, between one quarter and one third of all Turkish Cypriots, took part in a demonstration on Tuesday, in the north of Cyprus. They called for a peace agreement to be signed with the southern part of the island, and for the whole island to become a member of the European Union.
