Green light to Tetra Laval and Sidel merger

Brussels, 14/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - As foreseen, the European Commission has decided to clear the acquisition of French plastic packaging machines maker Sidel by Swiss-Swedish carton packaging leader Tetra Laval. The clearance is conditional on several commitments being adhered to. In October 2001, the Commission examined the merger and threw the merger out because of the risk of creating a dominant position.
