Greens crusade against recycled civilian and military plutonium

Brussels, 14/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Last Thursday, the Greens/EFA Group of the European Parliament organised, in Brussels, a seminar on the theme "recycling plutonium: risks and alternatives", bringing together a panel of scientific and political experts. In an international context that has been uncertain since the attacks on 11 September 2001, the Greens wish to make the public aware of the risks entailed by the recycling of civilian or military plutonium into nuclear fuel.
