After having reduced its controlling stake in the Austrian group WIENERBERGER to 20.5%, Belgian KORAMIC is to sell it its roof tile business (turnover EUR 250 million in 2002 with 2000 employed). The move will be made via the constitution of a joint venture called KORAMIC ROOFING in which WIENERBERGER has a 50% stake against payment of EUR 211.5 million. At a second stage, there will the possibility to acquire, by 2010 at the latest, KORAMIC's 50% stake.
