Strasbourg, 13/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - The former Ombudsman of the Basque country, Xabier Markiegi, and the former Greek Vice-President of the European Parliament, Giorgios Anastassopoulos, have both withdrawn their candidacies for the post of European Ombudsman.
