02/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - During Ministerial level talks between the EU and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Ouagadougou, European Commissioner Poul Nielson and the Executive Secretary of ECOWAS, Mohamed Ibn Chambas signed an agreement on aid of EUR 500,000 for ECOWAS mediation in the Ivory Coast in order to obtain national reconciliation.
