02/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - Thursday and Friday's Justice and Home Affairs Council also approved, among the points adopted without debate: 1) for Europol: a protocol for its participation in joint investigation teams (that still needs ratifying): recommendations on its anti-terrorist task force: two reports on data protection in Latvia and Cyprus that shows that the level of protection is sufficiently high to negotiate co-operation agreements: the decision to provisionally limit to three the number of deputy directors at Europol; 2) combating drugs: a generic classification of new synthetic drugs; a mid-term assessment of the EU's 2000-2004 plan against drugs: a report on the evaluation of national systems against drug trafficking; 3) on organised crime: the Europol 2000 report on organised crime in the European Union; 4) on asylum and immigration: conclusions on the intensification of consular cooperation for visas; the SISNT system's 2003 budget.
