214 national deputies from thirteen candidate countries are invited to take part in debate on enlargement in Strasbourg, on 19 November

Brussels, 05/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 19 November, some 214 MEPs from thirteen countries applying for EU membership (ten CEEC, Cyprus, Malta and Turkey) will, for the first time, have the opportunity to actively participate in a plenary session at the European Parliament. The representatives of the candidate countries will not only have the right to sit in the House alongside the EU15 MEPs but will be able to take the floor using their national language and take part on an equal footing...
