Annual report of Court of Auditors - responsibility shared between Commission and Member States - reform of accounting system

Brussels, 05/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - As announced earlier, the annual report of the Court of Auditors on the management of the Community budget in 2001 places emphasis on the impossibility of giving a Statement of Assurance for the management of operational payments, and the importance of reforming the Commission's accounting system (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.14).
