16/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission communication on relations with the complainant in respect of infringements of Community law was published in the Official Journal C 244 of 10 October. This communication recalls that anyone may take on a Member state by lodging, at no cost, a complaint to the Commission to denounce a measure (legislative, regulatory or administrative) or a practice attributable to a Member state that they believe contrary to a provision of a principle of Community law. The complainant has not to demonstrate the existence of an interest to act. The communication also describes how complaints are examined.
