John Monks official candidate to succeed Emilio Gabaglio

  • Brussels, 14/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Executive Committee of the European Trade Union confederation (ETUC) held on 9-10 October in Brussels and Chaired by Fritz Verzetnistch, decided to put forward the candidacy of the British Secretary General of the TUC, John Monks at the 10th Statutory Congress in Prague on 26-29 May 2003 for the post of ETUC general Secretary. If chosen, he will succeed Emilio Gabaglio, General Secretary since May 1991.
