Opening of new Cologne-Frankfurt stretch of TEN

Brussels, 29/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, Deutsche Bahn, the German rail company, opened the new 175 km stretch between Cologne and Frankfurt after seven years' work, amounting to a cost of EUR 6 billion. At an estimated total cost of EUR 24 billion, the high-speed rail connection links Paris, Brussels, Cologne/Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London (PBKAL).
