29/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - Frank Vanhecke, Belgian MEP and President of Vlaams Blok, confirmed that he had taken part at a meeting, on 25 and 26 July, organised in Carinthia by former FPÖ President Jörg Haider (Governor of the Austrian Land), in the presence also of Silvio Borghezio for the Lega Nord under Umberto Bossi, and leaders of the Scandinavian right-wing parties. Mr Vanhecke, who announced that a new meeting of this kind is scheduled for October, stated that the meeting had not resulted in an agreement on the subject of possibly presenting a joint list for European elections in June 2004. Jörg Haider, for his part, said he might himself be on a list. The other themes discussed in Carinthia included the risk of creating a European "super-State", EU enlargement and immigration.
