Commission attacks Spanish legislation on bodyguards before the Court

Brussels, 05/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to take Spain before the Court of Justice because it considers that the conditions imposed on the provision of private security services are out of proportion. Following a first Court ruling, Spain had already had to repeal the clauses of its legislation that made it compulsory for bodyguards to have Spanish nationality. The Commission this time considers that Spain does not apply the principle of mutual recognition....
