Banned hormone residues discovered in pig feed in Netherlands

Brussels, 05/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the Dutch Minister of Agriculture decided to place 29 pig breeding concerns under surviellance after the discovery of MPA (a banned growth hormone in the Community) in pig feed. The European Commission indicated that it had been informed of this incident according to the rapid alarm procedure and pointed out that the Netherlands had to trace where the contaminated products come from, withdraw them from the market and slaughter any animals...
