France promises security measures in Channel Tunnel

Brussels, 31/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - During the meeting on Thursday with representatives of British authorities and the European Commission, France gave its assurance that it would soon be putting security measures in place in the Channel Tunnel. These measures are to palliate the difficulties caused by the attempts being made by refugees from the Sangatte centre to reach Great Britain by climbing on board freight trains in Fréthyn. France has undertaken to establish such measures...
