50 million euro for Cairo metro in Egypt

Brussels, 04/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - The EIB is to grant a 50 million euro loan to finance the southwards extension (from Giza to El Monib) of Line 2 of the Cairo Mero in Egypt. The extension is being implemented by the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT), a department of the Ministry of Transport responsible for investment in tunnels and the Cairo Metro, whereas the operator will be the Cairo Metro Organisation (CMO), which operates the whole network.
