Washington / Brussels, 04/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - CFSP High Representative Javier Solana was in Washington on 4 March to discuss with Colin Powell and Condolezza Rice about the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East. Mr Solana, who was to meet Jean-Claude Juncker, Luxembourg's Prime Minister also on visit to Washington, had met the President of the European Council, José Maria Aznar, on Saturday in Madrid.
