Commission to adopt Preliminary Draft Amending Budget on Thursday to arrange finance for Convention

Brussels, 20/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - In line with the agreement struck between the three EU institutions at their informal three-way meeting (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.5), the European Commission is expected to adopt a Preliminary Draft Amending Budget on Thursday changing the 2002 Budget to make it possible to find the EUR 4 million required to cover the cash operating expenses of the Convention on the future of Europe (from 1 March 2002 to 31 December 2002).
