Commission proposes to add 43 carcinogens, mutagens and other toxic products to list of banned chemicals

Brussels, 20/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is proposing top the Parliament and Council that from 2003 onwards, 43 chemicals used in specialised paint, ink, lacquer and glue be banned from public sale since they have been recognised by scientists as potential carcinogens, mutagens or toxic for reproduction if they are used in an inappropriate manner.
