Six countries decide to jump the gun on entry into force of European Arrest Warrant

Santiago de Compostela, 14/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday in Santiago de Compostela, six European countries decided that they would apply the European Arrest Warrant almost a year before it officially comes into force. This new procedure replacing extradition will become applicable in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal and Luxembourg in the first half of 2003.
