Green light for Fisheries Agreement with Cap vert

Brussels, 23/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate a regulation on the new fisheries agreement signed between the EU and Cap Vert for the period 1 July 2001 to 30 June 2004. Fishing authorisations have been divided up as follows: tuna seiners (19 ships for France and 18 for Spain); pole and line vessels (6 for France, 10 for Spain and 2 for Portugal); shallow longliners (52 for Spain and 10 for Portugal); and deep sea longliners (630 gross...
